‘Wrexham make Elliot Lee exit decision amid Josh Windass news’
Elliot Lee’s future is hanging in the balance as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney embark on Wrexham’s most important summer in years.
The Hollywood duo have overseen back-to-back-to-back promotions from the National League to the Championship.
However, the Red Dragons must now prepare their squad for the challenge posed by the second tier, which is their toughest task yet.
Amid their desire to win yet another promotion, Wrexham have already signed Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward and former Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie.

Wrexham will part company with Lee if they sign Windass
As the Racecourse Ground side continue their preparations for the Championship, Wrexham have held talks with Josh Windass, as per BBC Sport [18 July].
The attacking midfielder excelled for Sheffield Wednesday last term, notching 13 goals and five assists in the second tier before leaving Hillsborough on a free transfer courtesy of Dejphon Chansiri’s troubling ownership.
If Wrexham acquire Windass, that would likely leave Elliot Lee with no place in Phil Parkinson’s starting lineup.
Lee struggled to perform in the Championship with his former club Luton Town, and would be best served if the North Wales side facilitated his exit ahead of next season, either on loan or via a permanent deal.

Windass signature would signal Wrexham’s intent
Having enjoyed three consecutive promotions, Parkinson’s men do not want to stop there and have their sights set on the Premier League.

But even though the Red Dragons’ class was unrelenting in the National League, League Two, and League One, the Championship presents a different challenge altogether.
The second tier boasts fallen giants of the English game, such as former Premier League champions Blackburn Rovers, while Leicester City, Southampton, and Ipswich Town are all vying for an immediate return to the top flight.
But Windass shone for a Sheffield Wednesday side who finished mid-table last term, and should be a major asset for a Wrexham side who want to be competing in the upper echelons of the Championship.
The 31-year-old should relish the opportunity of linking up with Hardie, who scored 10 goals in the second tier last season, even though he played for a Plymouth side who suffered relegation.
