‘Wrexham chief reveals all on Jamie Vardy and Patrick Bamford links’: ‘I should stop’
Wrexham club director Humphrey Ker has responded to the links between his side and former England strikers Patrick Bamford and Jamie Vardy.
Vardy has played his final game for Leicester, after managing to score his 200th goal in his 500th outing for the Foxes.
Meanwhile, Leeds could be willing to facilitate Bamford’s exit, as the 31-year-old failed to make a Championship start while the West Yorkshire side won the second-tier title.
Wrexham have enjoyed a remarkable rise, clinching three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship, but will need to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window.

Wrexham director Ker pours cold water on Bamford and Vardy links
The Red Dragons must recruit tried and tested Championship quality as they strive to enjoy yet another successful season after winning promotion from League One.
But when asked by Chris Moyles on Radio X [20 May] if Wrexham had signed Vardy, Ker replied: “No.”
The Red Dragons director was once more when asked if the Welsh side had made a move for Bamford, saying: “No, I should stop doing this because eventually you might say someone and I have to be like, ‘Yes, that’s true.'”
Wrexham have £30m transfer plan
Even though the Racecourse Ground outfit seemingly do not hold genuine interest in Bamford and Vardy, Wrexham are still expected to enjoy a busy transfer window.

2 Wrexham | 46 | 92 |
Their unrelenting rise through the leagues has been impressive, but the Championship boasts a quality of opposition that Phil Parkinson’s men have not yet encountered regularly amid the ownership of Hollywood duo Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Meanwhile, sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that the Red Dragons will have a £30million transfer budget to their name this summer.
That sum could allow Wrexham to add Championship quality to their ranks, while they need reinforcements after allowing Steven Fletcher, Mark Howard, Josh Adam, Jordan Davies, Harry Dean, Brad Foster, Liam Hall, and Sam Dalby to leave North Wales already.
The Red Dragons could look to add younger players to their side, as key players such as James McClean and Matty James are 36 years old and 33, respectively.
