Yang Hyun-Jun ‘desperate’ to join Celtic as ‘amazing’ details emerge – pundit

Celtic target Yang Hyun-Jun is “desperate” to join Parkhead.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Rangers defender Alan Hutton said the potential signing of Yang has Ange Postecoglou’s name “written all over it”.

According to The Herald (2 July), the Hoops are interested in signing the K-League winger this summer.

The 21-year-old’s contract at Gangwon FC runs until 2025 and the club are reluctant to let him leave midway through their season as they struggle at the bottom of the K-League 1 table.

A fee of around £2million has been suggested for the attacker and the player has even offered to use part of his salary to fund the transfer to secure a move in the coming months.

The winger said that he hopes his current club will let him leave and insisted he really wants to move on from the Korean side.

When asked for his verdict on Yang offering his own money to facilitate a move, Hutton told Football Insider:I wouldn’t.

He must be desperate to make the move.

It is another one of those transfers that has got Postecoglou’s name written all over it. I can’t imagine Brendan Rodgers coming in and knowing too much about that league.

It is something that the player is obviously desperate for. It is amazing to read something like that.

We are hearing about people going to Saudi for millions a year and this player is willing to give up his salary to make a move which is the polar opposite.
