Brighton close on Yankuba Minteh deal after Newcastle PSR issues
There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Minteh’s situation over the past few weeks after Newcastle made him available for a transfer to help ease their profit and sustainability (PSR) concerns.
Football Insider first revealed on 9 June the north-east giants were willing to listen to offers for the Gambia international.
Newcastle only signed Minteh for £6million last summer after he registered four goals and six assists in his first season with Danish side Odense.
The teenager was then sent out on loan to Dutch giants Feyenoord, where he scored 10 goals and laid on six assists in 27 Eredivisie appearances last season.
Despite that impressive form, the Tynesiders are being forced to sell Minteh to ensure they remain within their allowable losses limit.

Football Insider revealed on 28 June Newcastle will breach the PSR rules if they fail to move the winger on before Sunday’s accounting deadline after he turned down a switch to French club Lyon earlier in the week.
Brighton have now agreed a deal for his services and he is expected to make the move to the Amex barring any unexpected twists taking place.
