Yoane Wissa and Ivan Toney react to Bryan Mbeumo’s ‘see you’ message to Brentford fans

Bryan Mbeumo had a parting message for the Brentford fans as the Premier League season ended over the weekend.

Mbeumo has enjoyed a standout campaign with the Bees, scoring an impressive 20 goals in the Premier League.

Although Brentford closed out the season with a 1-1 draw against Wolves, they secured a respectable 10th-place finish—another solid year under Thomas Frank’s leadership.

But the Cameroonian’s red-hot form hasn’t gone unnoticed. Reports suggest Manchester United have already held talks with Mbeumo ahead of a potential summer move, with other Premier League sides also monitoring his situation.

Amid the transfer speculation, the forward shared a special video and heartfelt message for the fans, thanking them for their support and possibly offering a subtle hint about where his future lies.

Bryan Mbeumo drops hint over Brentford future amid Man United and Newcastle interest

The Cameroonian forward left fans guessing after posting a highlight reel on Instagram with the caption: “This was fun. See you next season.”

The message sparked plenty of reaction from players past and present. Strike partner Yoane Wissa liked the post, as did former teammate Ivan Toney.

Man United have already made their interest clear, but they’re not alone in the race. Football Insider revealed that Newcastle United are also prepared to meet Brentford’s valuation for Mbeumo in the upcoming transfer window.

With Newcastle having secured Champions League football, that added pull could be enough to sway Mbeumo as he considers his next step.

The forward has just one year remaining on his current deal, and Football Insider revealed that Brentford are under increasing pressure to resolve Mbeumo’s contract situation. A fee in the region of £50 million is believed to be enough to tempt the club into selling their star asset.

Mbeumo may not be the only high-profile departure at Brentford this summer.

Football Insider has revealed that 2023/24 Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen are eyeing up a move for goalkeeper Mark Flekken, with concerns growing within the club over the Dutchman’s future.

Leverkusen have alternated between Lukas Hradecky and Matej Kovar throughout the season, but Flekken could be viewed as a long-term number one.

The 31-year-old has been a key figure for Brentford this season, registering seven clean sheets, but it remains to be seen whether Frank’s side would be willing to part ways with another crucial first-team player.
