Yoane Wissa reacts after Thomas Frank’s Brentford exit to Tottenham
Brentford star Yoane Wissa has responded after Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham was confirmed.
Brentford’s fine Premier League form over the last few years has seen Frank’s stock rise among those at the top level of the game, and he has now left the Bees to take over at Tottenham after they sacked Ange Postecoglou.
Football Insider revealed on 4 June that Frank was in pole position to land the vacant Spurs role, and he was officially appointed by the Lilywhites on Thursday (12 June), putting pen to paper on a three-year contract to bring his nine-year association with the Bees to an end.
Brentford must now regroup ahead of key appointment in the club’s history, and Football Insider recently revealed that assistant Justin Cochrane had been interviewed by club chiefs for the head-coach position, but he has chosen to follow the Dane to North London.
It remains to be seen where a number of their key players could end up this summer after Frank’s exit, with Bryan Mbeumo heavily linked with a move to Spurs and Man United, while forward partner Wissa may also depart.

Yoane Wissa reacts to Thomas Frank’s Brentford exit amid transfer rumours
Wissa is wanted by Nottingham Forest this summer, which comes as no surprise after he scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season to help Brentford to a 10th-placed finish.
He has clearly been heavily influenced by Frank, with his coaching methods transforming Wissa into one of the best attackers in the top-flight right now, and the DR Congo international has reacted to the Dane’s exit by reposting the Bees’ thank-you message to their now ex-boss to his Instagram story.

Wissa also moved to like Spurs’ announcement of Frank as their new head-coach on Instagram, so he clearly wishes the 51-year-old well in his new venture despite likely being frustrated at his departure.
Brentford must do all they can to keep hold of Wissa with Mbeumo likely to leave
Football Insider verdict
Brentford have to get this summer right, with a key managerial appointment to make before any more transfer dealings can be made – Football Insider revealed on 7 June that Ipswich Town chief Kieran McKenna was top of the Bees’ wanted list ahead of Frank’s departure.
There is a huge task at hand to keep hold of their best players no matter who comes in as the next head-coach at the Brentford Community Stadium, and one of their star forwards certainly looks likely to make an exit with Football Insider recently reporting that Mbeumo has chosen to join Man United this summer.
Bees supporters will be fearful of Wissa also leaving, which is still possible, but the hierarchy at Brentford need to do all they can to keep hold of him for next season.

At 28-years-old, he is just entering his prime, and losing their head-coach and their two most important attackers would be nothing short of disastrous for the West London-based side.
Forest saw a £40 million bid for Wissa rejected by the Bees in January, but while they could reignite that interest, Bees fans will be pleased at Football Insider’s recent reveal that Frank is unlikely to raid his old club to take either him or Mbeumo to North London in the coming months.
