Yoane Wissa, Rico Henry react to Bryan Mbeumo announcement at Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo is the subject of the latest announcement emerging from Brentford, catching the attention of his teammates.

The 25-year-old has become a heavily sought-after player in the Premier League, adding another 20 goals and seven assists to his record in 42 appearances across all competitions.

He has a total of 70 goals and 47 assists since arriving at the Gtech Community Stadium from Troyed in August 2019, even boasting six goals for the Cameroon national team on the international stage.

The winger’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Football Insider understanding that Newcastle United and Man United are set to fight Arsenal for the player’s signature this summer.

Now, Mbeumo is likely to have gained even more attention before the opening of the summer transfer window after the Bees’ latest post about their star player.

Bryan Mbeumo earns plaudits at Brentford

Taking to Instagram (31 May), the official club account wrote: “Bryan Mbeumo X Premier League Fans Team of the Season,” gaining likes from Rico Henry and Yoanne Wissa.

The 25-year-old joins the likes of Liverpool‘s Virgil van Dijk, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

Thomas Frank could be without star forward next season

Football Insider verdict

Mbeumo has created a formidable partnership with Wissa, who also bagged 19 goals in the Premier League this season, helping the Bees to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League.

Football Insider understood in March that Nottingham Forest were “well placed” to sign Wissa, and that may still be the case as Premier League clubs prepare for the summer transfer window opening.

Losing Mbeumo, however, would be a much bigger blow, and could even trigger further exits for those at the Gtech Community stadium if the board aren’t careful enough.

Tottenham could make an approach for Thomas Frank, Keith Wyness told Football Insider, with Ange Postecoglou’s future in North London currently on a knife-edge ahead of next season.

Despite an impressive season in the top tier of English football, all the progress made over the last few seasons could come crumbling down if certain figures end up departing during the summer window.

The Bees will surely do absolutely everything to keep Mbeumo, and therefore Frank, but with the price tags being floated around, it might be too difficult to turn down an approach in the coming weeks.
