Yoane Wissa sends message about ‘all the fines’ to departing Brentford star

Yoane Wissa sent a message to a departing Brentford teammate following confirmation of his next move.

With the market opening early for a brief period at the start of June this summer due to the Club World Cup, it has been a busy period for the Bees, particularly in the goalkeeping department.

Earlier this week, Mark Flekken left Brentford in order to complete a move to Bayer Leverkusen, and they have not wasted any time in replacing the Dutchman.

Hot on the heels of his exit, it was announced that Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has joined Thomas Frank’s side, where he is set to take over as first choice between the posts.

Wissa meanwhile, has now taken the time to bid a humourous farewell to Flekken following his departure.

During his two years with the club Flekken made 77 appearances in all competitions for the Bees, which saw him help Frank‘s side continue to remain a well-established and effective Premier League team.

As a result, the goalkeeper has now taken to Instagram to share a video reflecting on his time at Brentford, while thanking the club and fans for their support.

In response, Wissa has now shared that clip to his own story, and added a caption that read: “Thank you for all the fines”.

The striker then added some laughing and loveheart emojis to show his fondness for Flekken, despite him seemingly being left out of pocket by the goalkeeper on occasions.

Football Insider Verdict

While this is an intriguing comment from Wissa, it may be some time before we know how Flekken earned him those fines, if ever, given such things usually stay behind closed doors.

Meanwhile, there could be even more exits from the club this summer that will be of much greater to concern for them.

As reported by Football Insider, Brentford boss Frank is in pole position to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham this summer, and elsewhere, the interest in Bryan Mbeumo from Man United is already well known.

With that in mind, the Bees will have an eventful summer as they look to either keep hold of those key figures or find replacements for them.

If they are not able to do that, then next season could become a trickier campaign for them in the Premier League.
