Kevin Phillips claims the prospect of playing for Leeds United will be impossible for Okay Yokuslu to turn down.

The former West Brom striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Yokuslu will want to remain in the Premier League.

Earlier this week, Football Insider revealed Leeds have made a new defensive midfielder one of their top priorities this summer.

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani

Yokuslu, 27, joined West Brom on loan from Celta Vigo in January and has become a key player for Sam Allardyce.

AS claim there is no option for West Brom to make his loan move permanent even though Celta are happy to sell.

Phillips claims plenty of Premier League clubs will be interested in Yokuslu this summer.

“There will be clubs interested in Yokuslu,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“He’s settled in really well. If Sam Allardyce is still at West Brom next year he will not want to let him go.

“If the player wants to stay in the Premier League you can’t stop him. He’s taken really well to Premier League football.

“The attractiveness of playing for Leeds in front of the Elland Road crowd will be impossible for him to turn down.

“Would he go as cover? He’s used to first team football now. I’m not surprised Leeds are looking at that position.”

Yokuslu has become a fan favourite at The Hawthorns after his impressive performances and aggressive style of play.

West Brom will be relegated from the Premier League if they lose to Arsenal on Sunday.
