Coveted teen ace heads to Everton for trial as transfer moves closer - report

By Alex Stevens

The youngster at the centre of Liverpool’s tapping-up storm is on trial at Everton, according to a report.

The Mail claim the coveted 13-year-old may now end up at Goodison Park as he has been training with the club ahead of a possible transfer.

It is said that the deal could go through once the wrangle between Liverpool and Stoke has been finalised.

The five-times European champions have been embarrassed this week after flouting Premier League poaching rules for youth players.

Liverpool have been slapped with a ban on signing academy players from English clubs for two years after they admitted to tapping up a young player who was on the books at Stoke.

They were also fined £100,000 for speaking to the individual without Stoke’s permission.

The teenager’s move to Anfield has since fallen through and his future is in limbo as the rules state he cannot join another academy until Liverpool pay Stoke a £50,000 compensation fee.

It would doubtless add further salt into the Reds’ wounds were the player to complete a transfer to Everton.

A Premier League investigation concluded the youngster was offered a personal incentive to move to Anfield and Liverpool backed out of an agreement to pay his school fees.

Tensions between Liverpool and Stoke are fraught ahead of their Premier League showdown at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

Everton are in action on Sunday, when they host Leicester at Goodison.

In other Everton transfer news, the club are close to reaching an agreement to sign a brilliant striker.
