Youri Tielemans’ Aston Villa career could soon come to an end after Unai Emery drafts up transfer plans ahead of the summer.

The 28-year-old has long been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, and with PSR concerns always following the Villans around, it could be time for the hierarchy to cash in.

Given that Villa signed him on a free transfer from Leicester City, any profit made would be an incredible bonus for the club, and one that would help a lot with their finances.

Of course, if Villa’s transfer plans are to include signing Everton’s James Garner this summer, they would have to raise funds, and supporters would go into a total meltdown should Morgan Rogers be sold.

Mick Brown revealed to Football Insider that Villa are keeping close tabs on Garner ahead of the summer window, despite the midfielder only penning new terms recently at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The 25-year-old has been a shining star under David Moyes, even when being thrown into a vacant right-back spot at times this season, proving to be one of England’s most promising talents.

Tielemans, on the other hand, has experienced a rather mixed campaign, one blighted by injuries, with the Belgian unable to record anywhere near as many goal contributions as expected.

Supporters have become quite concerned by Tielemans’ drastic drop in form, only compounded by his costly error during the international break, which led to USA grabbing a goal back in their friendly.

What do we know about Youri Tielemans’ contract situation?

If the 28-year-old were to be sold this summer, the ideal conclusion would be getting a decent transfer fee for the creative Belgian, especially with his contract running until 2028.

Football Insider understands that Villa are prepared to reject offers for Tielemans, but it is pretty clear that there are concerns over a potential exit once the summer window rolls around.

Signing Garner would show a real push forward from the club on all levels, with European qualification already likely thanks to a top four or five finish in the Premier League.

Emery’s side is far from a finished product, however, and signing one of the division’s most talented midfielders would send a clear message to the other teams ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
