But after missing out on Champions League qualification, the West Midlands club may have to sell the France international to balance the books.

Meanwhile, Digne could thrive at Atletico Madrid, having previously featured in La Liga for Catalonian giants Barcelona.

Furthermore, Atletico boss Diego Simeone has earned a deserved reputation as one of the best defensive coaches in the world, and could improve the France international.

Former Tottenham man Kieran Trippier developed his game under Simeone in La Liga before joining Newcastle United in 2022, while a move to the Spanish capital could have a similar effect on the Aston Villa man.

Digne turns 32 next month, and could be ready for a new challenge with an Atletico outfit who have booked their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Meanwhile, Emery’s men have been tipped to sell Emi Buendia to Leeds United in a Villa News exclusive.
