Yves Bissouma and Premier League 25-year-old tipped to dazzle at Aston Villa after £50m reported update – pundit
Kevin Phillips is adamant both Yves Bissouma and Wilfred Ndidi would be “top signings” for Aston Villa this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Claret and Blue striker believes both 25-year-old’s would reach the next level under the guidance of Steven Gerrard.
According to the Daily Star (15 February), Brighton’s Bissouma and Leicester City’s Ndidi are at the top of Villa’s shopping list ahead of the summer.
Steven Gerrard is said to have been promised £50million to sign a new central defensive midfielder.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the midfield pair, Phillips said: “They would both be top signings but the money they are going to cost, wow, it will be a lot.
“I think they are both very good players. They have both proven themselves in the Premier League. They’d be an asset to any club in the Premier League and certainly Villa.
“It’s encouraging from a Villa fans point of view, the signings they have made and the signings they hope to make. They are looking to bring top quality to the club. It’s a massive boost for the fans.
“Ndidi and Bissouma both have their qualities. Working under a manager like Steven Gerrard they would only get better.”
Ndidi has two-and-a-half-years remaining on his contract at the King Power Stadium.
Whereby, Bissouma has entered the final 18 months of his deal with the Seagulls.
