Roberto Mancini names two players that make Celtic tick ahead of clash v Zenit
Zenit manager Roberto Mancini has named the two Celtic players that he believes will be key men for the Bhoys in the Europa League second leg on Thursday night.
Mancini has named Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham as the men that his team will need to stop if the Russian side are to overturn the 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
“We knew Celtic were a good team. The players are very good as is their manager” the former Manchester City boss said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“Olivier Ntcham had a very good game and Scott Brown is the heart of this Celtic team.
“But in general the whole team worked very well against us.”
Both Ntcham and Brown are set to return to the Hoops side for the game against Zenit after missing out on the goalless draw against against St Johnstone on Sunday.
Nthcam had a sickness bug and Brown was suspended, but both players are set to be key figures for Brendan Rodgers’ side as they aim to make the last sixteen of the Europa League.
The Hoops dominated the first game and thoroughly deserved the lead given to them by Callum McGregor’s second-half strike at Celtic Park.
However, it will be a much tougher prospect for the Bhoys to pull off a result in Russia, and they will need to up their performance level possibly even more than they did in the first leg in what is bound to be an intimidating atmosphere in the Krestovsky Stadium.
