Rodgers must be show clear Celtic intent and make this brave decision v Anderlecht
Celtic are on the verge of clinching a place in the last 32 of the Europa League, as they prepare to face Anderlecht in their final Champions League group stage game on Tuesday.
The Hoops need to avoid a four goal defeat at Parkhead from the Belgian champions to secure European football after Christmas.
They should try to clinch the place by throwing caution to the wind and make the brave decision to go all out attack against Anderlecht, as not only would a victory be earned in style, but it would make people forget about the 7-1 loss to PSG in the last Champions League game.
The Hoops are a far better side than Anderlecht, this was shown in the match between the sides in September, where Celtic didn’t even play that well and still cruised to a 3-0 win thinks to goals from Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair.
It’s a game that Anderlecht need to win, which could play right into the Hoops’ hands, so there is no need to play the usual one striker system that Brendan Rodgers favours.

A two man attack of Griffiths and Moussa Dembele would be a clear statement of intent, that the Bhoys don’t care about what type of game Anderlecht are trying to play, they are out to score goals and an emphatic victory – for example, 5-0 – would ensure a memorable night in Glasgow.
The players have scored a total of 16 goals between them this season, and supported by the likes of Scott Sinclair and James Forrest they could have a field day against an Anderlecht team who won’t be looking forward to the cauldron of noise at Celtic Park.
Rodgers seems to be slightly more circumspect however, and Moussa Dembele up-front and Leigh Griffiths on the substitutes bench seems the most likely scenario.
