'7,589,098 times better than Alex Iwobi' - Arsenal fans loving one man at h/t v Southampton

Arsenal welcomed Southampton to the Emirates on Sunday in the Premier League and Arsene Wenger opted to go with a much-changed line-up from the one that romped to victory against CSKA Moscow day earlier.

The Saints weren’t expected to cause much of a problem for the Gunners with the fourth worst goalscoring record in the top-flight but the North Londoners were not at the races early on.

Shane Long pounced in the 17th minute taking full advantage of some indecisive play between Petr Cech and Shkodran Mustafi to give Mark Hughes’ side an unlikely lead.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised for Arsenal, finishing after a flick from Danny Welbeck.

The provider then turned into the goalscorer in the 38th minute as Welbeck turned a shot a curled effort into the net, making the score 2-1.

Supporters of the Gunners were pleased to see Reiss Nelson’s display in his first start for the club.

In fact, the 18-year-old was the youngest player to start for Arsenal since 2013.

The selection of the youth product in the starting XI was Nelson’s 25th appearance of the season.

There have been questions surrounding the attacker’s future at the Emirates with his contract due to end next summer, speculation has emerged that the forward could be on his way to Real Madrid.

Judging by the reactions of supporters to the youngster, they will be hoping this doesn’t happen.
