Coyle has already spent one spell out on loan in 2014 when he was shipped out to play for non-league side Harrogate Town, but had it cut short after just a handful of appearances following a serious injury.
The right-back made ten appearances in Garry Monk’s squad last season, starting three fixtures in the Championship.
He also featured in the EFL Cup penalty shoot-out win against his soon-to-be team mates at Fleetwood when he earned 120 minutes of first-team action.
Coyle was a large part in helping the Whites reach the quarter finals of the EFL Cup last term, playing every minute of every match in the run up to their eventual loss to Liverpool.
The Leeds academy product has made a total of 23 senior appearances for the West Yorkshire club, and will be hoping to help Fleetwood secure promotion to the Championship in the upcoming season.
Football Insider Verdict
Coyle does look as though he might have a future role to play at Elland Road, and a loan move to Fleetwood is exactly what he needs to see his career progress. The Lancashire club are definitely one that are on the rise and could see themselves playing in the Championship in the near future. It’s important that Coyle plays for a team that is winning matches and has high ambitions ahead of next season, otherwise it could be severely demoralising for him to be fighting a relegation battle. Leeds have had a number of good players come through the academy in recent years and it’s certainly an exciting time to be a supporter of the club following the changes made by Andrea Radrizzani in recent weeks.
In other Leeds news, this midfielder has signed after the Whites agreed the terms for his move.
