28-year-old must be sold: Three Leeds players ranked on importance after Bolton axe

COMMENT By Will Butcher

The futures of three senior Leeds players will be under the microscope in the coming days after they were left out of Thomas Christiansen’s 18-man squad to face Bolton.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay revealed on his personal Twitter account prior to the line-ups being announced that captain Liam Bridcutt, Souleymane Doukara and Marcus Antonsson were all missing from the 18-man squad.

Leeds secured all three points against Phil Parkinson’s side with a 3-2 victory at the Macron Stadium, thanks to goals from Chris Wood and a brace from Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips gave Leeds the lead with a superb finish from a short corner before Wood headed home a second. Bolton replied through Gary Madine, but Phillips notched up a second after good work from Pablo Hernandez and Wood.

An Adam Le Fondre penalty set up a tense finale for Leeds fans, but the Whites held in to earn all three points.
