Rodgers 2016 signing set for Celtic summer exit (not Dembele) - report
Celtic right-back Cristian Gamboa looks set to leave the Hoops in the summer, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun are reporting that the 28-year-old, who is set to play for Costa Rica in the World Cup in the summer, is so far out of the first-team picture that he was said to have gone on a family holiday in Spain ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Rangers.
Gamboa has only made three appearances for the Bhoys this season, the last being in February where he played the entire match against St Johnstone in a much-changed Hoops side ahead of the Europa League clash with Zenit.
Brendan Rodgers signed the player from West Brom in 2016 and he featured 19 times for the Bhoys in his debut season, but this season he has fallen out of favour completely.
Gamboa is not the only player who could leave Parkhead this summer with star striker Moussa Dembele constantly linked with a move to England.

Gamboa has to go down as one of Rodgers’ worst signings in his time as Hoops manager so far. He seemed to lose all faith in the player in a very short period of time, and the die was cast when he turned in a poor performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League earlier this season, although that wasn’t the player’s fault, he shouldn’t have played that game. Being so out of the picture that you are sent on holiday in the build-up to an Old Firm game is quite remarkable, and it is best for all involved, for the player to save his career, and the Hoops to get a player off the books that Gamboa departs in the summer.
