According to The Sun, Ryan Sessegnon has made it clear that if Fulham win promotion to the Premier League he will snub big-money moves.
The youngster, 17, is prepared to commit his future to Fulham if they win their way to the top-flight, ignoring calls from Tottenham, Man City and Man United.
However, there’s plenty of good news for Tottenham fans here.
Sessegnon, who is rated at £30million and is labelled the “hottest property outside the PL” by the Sun, has made it clear that if they don’t win promotion he would favour a move to Spurs.
And it’s not looking likely that Fulham will come up the easy way.
They are currently in third spot in the Championships and looking like they might have to take the tough route up through the play-offs.
They’re currently seven points behind Cardiff City in second with just eight league games remaining, and Cardiff have a game in hand too.
The play-offs are notoriously tough to emerge from and the third-placed finishers don’t have a great record of winning promotion. They might not even make them if they have a terrible run of form between now and the end of the season.
Tottenham fans now have a huge interest in what happens in the next eight games in the Championship.
They will be anti-sweating Fulham furiously and will hope they slip up.
Sessegnon is one of the standout youngsters in world football today and Spurs will be confident that they would be first in line for his signature if he does leave.
He would fit in with the Pochettino set-up perfectly – if Fulham don’t get themselves promoted.
