Report details massive factor in Roberts imminent return to Celtic

Patrick Roberts has “dug his heels in” at Manchester City to secure a back move back to Celtic, according to a recent report.

The Glasgow Evening Times claims that the 20-year-old’s desire to return to the domestic treble winners is the main reason for the agreement of his imminent second loan spell.

The newspaper reports that the club are expected to announce the winger’s season-long loan return  at the beginning of next week.

According to the report, Brendan Rodgers’ side will pay close to £3million to bring the Man City ace back for another campaign.

It is reported that Roberts made it clear to the Manchester giants he wanted to re-join his team mates of last season and play under manager Brendan Rodgers once again.

Roberts joined Celtic back in February 2016 and made a total of 47 appearances for the club where he netted 11 goals and provided and impressive 19 assists.
The youngster was crucial to Celtic’s treble winning success and developed well until Rodgers’ management, which is why is why it’s unsurprising that both parties want a reunion.
Supporters will be delighted to learn that Roberts was so eager to return to the club.
He became a favourite among fans for his contribution at Parkhead, with fans instantly calling for his return when he moved back to Manchester City at the end of the 2016/17 season.
