Adama Traore backed to make sensational Wolves return – the two clubs who should get deal done

Adama Traore could be on his way out of Fulham in January with a possible reunion with Nuno Espirito Santo on the cards.

Sources told Football Insider that West Ham are eyeing up a potential deal for Traore in a bid to inject pace into their attack.

Espirito Santo has consistently praised Traore after the pair had a productive spell at Wolves where the winger reached his highest levels.

With the Spaniard set to leave Fulham at the end of the season, West Ham could agree a cut-price deal for Traore in January as Marco Silva tries to cash in before it is too late.

Yet, there are others who could greatly benefit from the ex-Aston Villa man’s speed and strength as Football Insider considers the Premier League clubs who should challenge the Hammers for his signature.

Leeds crying out for a dynamic winger in Traore

Since their return to the English top-flight, it is safe to say that Leeds have struggled to carry their free-flowing Championship goalscoring form into the Premier League.

In 11 matches, only deplorable Wolves have scored less goals (seven) than the Peacocks’ 10, highlighting their problems in front of goal.

This has been partly due to the poor conversion of their frontmen, principally in the form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

However, the fact that Daniel Farke has been reduced to playing attacking-midfielder Brenden Aaronson on the right-hand side signifies their lack of explosive options on that flank.

Traore’s arrival could bring some much needed pace and tenacity to a misfiring Leeds outfit with the winger capable of whipping in crosses and running at defenders to create opportunities.

Rob Edwards to get the best out of Traore’s homecoming to Wolves

With new Wolves manager Rob Edwards expected to be backed in January, he’ll be looking at rectifying weaknesses in his side.

During his time at Middlesborough, the ex-Luton Town boss set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and demanded intense pressing from his wingers.

Given Traore’s pace and strength, a return to Molineux could suit both parties as they look to beat the drop against the odds.

The Spaniard enjoyed one of his most productive seasons at Wolves in 2019-20 with 15 goal involvements in all competitions, and Edwards will be hoping to get him back to those numbers.

As mentioned, the Wanderers have scored just seven goals in 11 matches which is a worrying sign of impending relegation.

The ex-Barcelona winger’s creativity and dynamism could prove pivotal in keeping them up this season and giving Jorgen Strand Larsen some much needed service.
