Agbonlahor 'baffled' as Heung-min Son footage emerges from Tottenham

Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Heung-min Son “1000 per cent” to refind his consistency at Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward tipped Son to score 20 goals this season after opening his account in the 6-3 win over Leicester City at the weekend (17 September).

The 30-year-old scored a hat-trick after being introduced from the substitutes bench with 30 minutes remaining.

Son had come in for a lot of criticism after his poor start to the season and was dropped to the bench for the first time in the Premier League this season against Leicester.

Antonio Conte told club media after the game that the forward’s performance had reinstalled his confidence.

Asked whether he expects the Son to kick on after his hat-trick, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “1000 per cent.

“Sometimes these things happen. When you see Son’s second goal, for instance, inside and on his left foot, that’s what Son does. Left or right foot, top corner or bottom corner, that’s what he does.

“He’ll still get his 20 goals this season. He’s a top, top player.

“Everyone was baffled by how bad it got with him not scoring.

“Now, he’s got that smile back on his face and he’ll bang in the goals.”

Son scored 23 goals in 35 Premier League games last season and shared the golden boot with Mohamed Salah.

The South Korea international now has 96 goals and 53 assists in 239 top-flight appearances.
