Agbonlahor: Celtic told to accept Brentford’s Ajer bid amid £20m reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Celtic should accept a £15million bid for Kristoffer Ajer from Brentford.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted Celtic’s £20million asking price is unrealistic given Ajer has just 12 months left on his contract.
Football Insider learned today (14 July) Brentford are submitting a fresh £15million bid that will have a higher guaranteed payment than their last offer of £12million plus £3million of add-ons.

This comes after Football Insider reported (13 July) the Hoops board have upped their asking price for the centre-back to £20million.
That has left Ajer furious after they had previously promised he would be sold if their £15million valuation was met.
This site revealed earlier today that Celtic have already agreed a £4.3million fee for his replacement – Carl Starfelt – and he is now undergoing a medical.
The Sweden international, 26, currently plays for Rubin Kazan.
Asked for his assessment of Celtic’s Ajer price tag, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “With a year left on his contract, yes, he’s a good player but £20million might be a bit too much with that contract.
“I’m sure they’ll look at it and think ‘Maybe we should take £11million, £12million and meet in the middle.’
“That would be a good deal for the defender.”

Ajer has scored seven times and provided seven assists in 176 games across all competitions for Celtic in his x-year spell at the club.
The 23-year-old was one of the club’s stand out performers last term as they suffered a disappointing trophy-less season.
In other news, a Celtic target Jurgen Klopp compared to Andy Robertson has been tipped to complete a move.
