Agbonlahor impressed by two transformed Everton players

Gabby Agbonlahor has been left wowed by Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray continue to prove their Everton doubters wrong.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted Gray can finally thrive for Everton in a 4-3-3 formation.

The 25-year-old is finally fulfilling his potential after his indifferent spells at Leicester City and Bayer Leverkusen.

According to FBRef, he has scored from all three of his shots on target this season.

Townsend scored his first Premier League goal for the Blues against Burnley with a wonder strike in their 3-1 win at Goodison Park.

“If you look at Demarai Gray, he’s always been a quality player,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“He lost his way at Leicester and it didn’t really work for him at Bayer Leverkusen.

“He’s got a point to prove now and he wants to make it in the Premier League.

“It’s the right fit for him and the formation, 4-3-3 is the right fit for him. He can get at people, left foot or right. He’s an exciting player.

“He and Townsend are looking really, really good. One was a free transfer, one was £1.5million. It just shows you, people complain about not spending money but look at them now.

“It’s about what you get, not about the money you spend.”

Townsend moved to Everton from Crystal Palace over the summer after he was released by the London club.

Gray signed from Bayer Leverkusen after spending the second half of last season with the Bundesliga outfit.

In other news, Everton have been told to sack a big name amid a “shocking” £24million reveal.
