Agbonlahor hails 'great deal' for Leeds amid Harrison hijack 'surprise'
Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted he is surprised another club did not try and hijack Jack Harrison’s move to Leeds United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted the Whites will be “buzzing” to get the deal completed.
Football Insider learned on 3 July the deal to land Harrison permanently has cost Leeds in excess of £20million in fees and wages.
The winger has spent the last three campaigns on loan from Manchester City but has now penned a three-year permanent contract.
He comfortably made the step up to the Premier League last season as his 36 appearances yielded eight goals and eight assists.
Both Harrison and Raphinha established themselves as Marcelo Bielsa’s first-choice wingers as Leeds secured an impressive ninth-place finish.

Harrison has now scored 18 times and provided 20 assists in 128 games across all competitions for the Yorkshire giants.
“I’m surprised other clubs haven’t hijacked the move,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“For me, he was one of the outstanding wingers last season.
“He’s so direct, full of energy, so hardworking, going back and defending. Plus he can score goals and get assists.
“It’s a great deal for Leeds and I’m sure they’re buzzing after getting it over the line.”
Harrison became Leeds’ second summer signing after the addition of young prospect Amari Miller from Birmingham City.
United have subsequently signed Junior Firpo from Barcelona and this site learned yesterday (6 July) they are confident of completing a deal for Wigan Athletic starlet Sean McGurk.
