Agbonlahor: Liverpool told to launch Mason Mount U-turn after ‘absurd’ update
Mason Mount would not be the right signing for Liverpool, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Mount is asking for “absurd” money at Chelsea and Liverpool should stay well clear.
The 23-year-old is out of contract in the summer of 2024 at Chelsea and is currently locked in negotiations over a new deal.

The Daily Mail reported last week (25 November) that the Blues have offered him a new deal worth around £200,000-a-week but he wants a contract similar to Raheem Sterling.
His England teammate is earning around £300,000-a-week after making the switch from Man City in the summer.
Mount is one of the lowest-paid players in the Chelsea squad with his current deal worth £85,000-a-week as he last signed a new contract when he returned from a loan spell at Derby County in the summer of 2019.
It is claimed the situation is a concern for Chelsea because his current status limits his value with Liverpool one of the clubs interested in signing him.
“Mason Mount I don’t think is the right man for Liverpool,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“I wouldn’t buy him. He’s a decent enough player but I don’t think he’s the sort of player who is going to get you to a Premier League title.
“The money that he’s asking for from Chelsea is absurd because he hasn’t put in the performances to ask for the money he wants.”

Sources told Football Insider last week (27 November) that Liverpool want to sign two top new midfielders next year.
Jude Bellingham is the long-term top target while Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of Declan Rice.
In other news, Liverpool are in talks to terminate a loan deal.
