Agbonlahor makes bold Leeds prediction after confirmed transfer news

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Leeds United are the only Premier League club who’s squad has “not improved at all” this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa striker said the Whites need to sign “a class number 10 who can get on the ball and make things happen”.

Leeds have added Junior Firpo, Lewis Bate and Kristoffer Klaesson to their ranks in this window, while they have also completed the permanent signing of Jack Harrison.

As quoted by Sky Sports (19th August), Marcelo Bielsa admitted further arrivals at Elland Road are unlikely before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Agbonlahor suggested the Yorkshire club’s lack of activity in the market shows a lack of ambition.

“It’s a bit worrying for Leeds hearing Bielsa come out and say that they have not got the money to buy players because they are too expensive right now,” he told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“It begs the question of where Leeds want to go. Do they want to be a mid-table team or do they want to push on and challenge for the European spots?

“The squad has not improved at all. Every team is improving apart from Leeds.

“They have brought in Firpo who looks like a decent left-back but they need more, especially in the midfield. They need a perfect number 10 who can get on the ball and make things happen.

“I think it’s going to be a disappointing season for Leeds.”
