Agbonlahor: Rangers tipped to do 'something special' in the Champions League after Kent reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Rangers to do “something special” in next season’s Champions League.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker delivered his verdict after it was revealed Ryan Kent is set to stay at Ibrox next season.
Football Insider revealed last week the dazzling attacker has a “gentleman’s agreement” to stay at Rangers for another season.
It is likely he will not sign a new contract with his current deal including a £20million release clause.
But the 24-year-old is loyal to manager Steven Gerrard is keen to be a part of the club’s first Champions League campaign in over a decade.
“That’s the thing,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Steven Gerrard, when the season finishes, his thoughts are going to be ‘Let’s get through the Champions League qualifying rounds.’
“That team is more than good enough. You’ve seen teams struggle in the qualifying rounds but this Rangers team now is more than capable to qualify for the group stages.
“It makes sense for him to not rush into anything. The grass isn’t always greener.
“Rangers are doing something special. Nobody in that team will want to leave.
“You’re going to play in the Champions League with a lot more clubs looking at you. There’s nobody in that Rangers team will want to leave the project Steven Gerrard’s building.”
Kent has scored 12 goals and provided 14 assists in 50 games across all competitions this season.
He has now found the net on 26 occasions and contributed 24 assists in 126 appearances since arriving in Glasgow, initially on loan, in 2018.
