Agbonlahor salutes Dallas after 'massive' Leeds news

Stuart Dallas deserves to be one of the highest-paid players at Leeds United, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward tipped the Northern Ireland international to “shine again next season”.

Dallas exceptional campaign last season was rewarded with a new three-year deal earlier this month.

He scored eight goals and provided two assists in 38 Premier League games as the Whites earned a ninth-place finish.

Dallas was also named as the club’s player of the year and players’ player of the year.

The 30-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire in 2023 but he has now committed his future until at least 2024.

Asked whether Dallas deserved a new contract, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.

“He deserves a massive pay rise. He should be one of the highest-paid in the team after what he’s done for them.

“I’m sure that new contract will reflect that and he gets what he deserves.

“From looking at him and from what I’ve heard he’s not the sort of player that will change his attitude now he’s on a new, big deal.

“It’s good news for Leeds and they’ve got a player that will definitely shine again next season.”

Dallas has now scored 27 goals and 17 assists in 230 games across all competitions for the Yorkshire giants.

The versatile ace has operated across the midfield as well as in both full-back positions for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
