Agbonlahor shares ‘massive’ verdict on Tottenham selling Ndombele after source’s reveal

Tottenham will only sell Tanguy Ndombele if they can make a profit on the “massive” £55million fee they paid for him, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward suggested Ndombele will have to be reintegrated into the squad if he fails to complete a move before the end of the transfer window.

A Tottenham source has told Football Insider the midfielder has told the club he wants to leave before the 31 August cut-off.

He was left out of Nuno Espirito Santo’s Europa Conference League squad and is yet to feature in the Premier League this season.

“He was brought in for a massive fee and if you’re Spurs you’re not going to sell him for a loss,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I’m sure Spurs will be saying to him and his agent ‘Get us the money that we paid for you or you’re staying here and you’ll have to be integrated back into the squad’.

“I think he’s a great player but sometimes you can see his attitude isn’t right in certain games. I noticed that under Mourinho.

“Some games he’s on fire but some games his attitude is not right and he’s not tracking back, he’s not working hard.

“Maybe that’s what has happened under Nuno Espirito Santo, he’s gone in and seen that attitude for him and decided not to have him involved.

“His talent is there for everyone to see, it’s strange that he’s not involved.

“He’s outstanding, his footwork, even his passing and his assists at the end of last season.

“It’s disappointing and I’m sure Daniel Levy will say to Nuno, ‘If he doesn’t leave, he has to be back involved’. He’s such a good player and cost so much money.”
