Agbonlahor shares McGregor prediction after embarrassing Rangers reveal
Allan McGregor will continued to be dropped by Rangers but still has a major role to play this season despite his poor start.
That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as McGregor and John McLaughlin have shared the gloves this term.
McGregor has kept just one clean sheet in his 11 appearances across all competitions this term.
The 39-year-old conceded in Rangers’ 2-1 win over Hibs at Ibrox at the weekend – his third Scottish Premiership game of the season.
According to FBref, his 50 per cent save rate is the joint-worst in the league along with Dundee United’s Trevor Carson.
McLaughlin, 34, has four clean sheets in six appearances across all competitions and has conceded just two goals.

Rangers have lost just once, a 1-0 defeat to Dundee United in August, with McLaughlin between the sticks.
“That’s going to happen, you’re going to be rotated,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“At McGregor’s age, you’re going to get those moments when you’re in and out of the team.
“He’s been a great servant to the game, a great servant to Rangers.
“So, I’m sure that he’ll play his fair share of games for Rangers and they’ll still get some good performances out of him.”
McGregor has kept 186 clean sheets in 401 games across all competitions for Rangers across his two spells at Ibrox.
The ex-Scotland international turns 40 in January and is out of contract with the Gers at the end of the season.
