Agbonlahor tells Tottenham to complete Dean Henderson swoop – ‘they’ve got to’
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Dean Henderson would be a good fit in the Tottenham goal and could be the club’s number one for “10 years”.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Spurs “have got to” get rid of club captain Hugo Lloris after his showings in the 2022-23 season.
Sources told this site last month (26 March) that Nottingham Forest and Tottenham are keen to sign Henderson from Man United in the summer window.
Football Insider revealed on 24 March that the England international has accepted his time at Old Trafford is over and is set to leave the club this summer.
Hugo Lloris is set to be sold by Spurs during the off-season after a campaign riddled with mistakes from the 36-year-old.
The World Cup winner has returned to training after a long-term injury which saw him replaced by Fraser Forster in the starting lineup.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think he’s more than good enough to be part of that Spurs side.
“I can tell you this, I did say they should have gone for Pickford, but he’s signed the new contract at Everton. They’ve got to go for a young option – someone who can be in that goal for the next 10 years.

“It will obviously depend on the De Gea situation as to whether Henderson ends up leaving, but I think it’s a good fit.
“It’ll be interesting to see where Spurs go, but they’ve got to get rid of Lloris. He’s just made too many mistakes, he takes too long on the ball – he’s got to go, for sure.”
