Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Mikel Arteta will have 10 Premier League games next season to save his Arsenal job.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker insisted the Spaniard will be given the summer transfer window to turn things around at the Emirates.
The Gunners gave their slim hopes of qualifying for Europe next season a boost on Tuesday night with a win over Chelsea.
They are now ninth in the Premier League table with 55 points, one point behind Tottenham who sit in seventh.
The Sun report Arteta will be given significant financial backing with owner Stan Kroenke and technical director Edu convinced he is the right man to take Arsenal back to the Champions League.
“I don’t think it would matter if they lost the rest of their games this season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He will get another transfer window and 10 games next season.
“If they’re not improving, if they’re not doing well after 10 games next season, they’ll get rid of him.
“I don’t think there’s any danger at the moment but Arsenal do not want to go on finishing ninth or 10th in the Premier League.
“There’s no chance that he can get away with that.
“I don’t think he’s under any pressure yet but next season is a big season for him.”
Arteta has been in charge of Arsenal since December 2019 and led them to the FA Cup in his first season.
He has overseen 84 games across all competitions and has a win rate of 53.6 per cent.
