Agbonlahor tips Harry Kane to quit Tottenham and sign for London rivals after verbal agreement
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Tottenham star Harry Kane to “force” a reunion with former manager Mauricio Pochettino after he verbally agreed to take the Chelsea job.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Blues have the financial clout to meet Spurs’ demands for the 29-year-old.
Kane will have just 12 months remaining on his contract in June, and sources have told this site (26 April) that Tottenham value him at £100million.
The England captain has been widely linked with a move to Man United – while German giants Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest.
Kane played 242 times under Pochettino at Spurs – and the Argentine boss has verbally accepted an offer to become Chelsea’s new manager this summer.
Like the Stamford Bridge club, Tottenham are unlikely to achieve Champions League qualification for the 2023-24 campaign.

When asked if Kane could consider moving to Spurs’ London rivals, Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “There’s a chance, of course.
“Pochettino and Kane obviously got on really well together at Tottenham.
“If you’re Kane now, you’re thinking ‘I’m going anywhere to win trophies’.
“Chelsea are a club who will pay the fee – and if they do, I’m sure Kane will be in touch with his brother, his agent, to get it over the line.
“It doesn’t make sense for him to stay at Spurs. Every Spurs fan will look at it now, and they can’t have a problem with him going.
“They’re a nothing club, and they’re in turmoil. Kane should force this move, whether it’s Man United or Chelsea. He can stay in the Premier League and beat Shearer’s record.”
