Agbonlahor tips Wolves to unleash 'electric' sensation v Aston Villa after Trincao news

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Adama Traore to start for Wolves against Aston Villa this weekend.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict with Francisco Trincao a major doubt for the game.

Trincao withdrew from the Portugal squad on October 6 after testing positive with coronavirus.

With Saturday’s Midlands derby coming 10 days after he was first revealed to have tested positive he is a major doubt.

But Agbonlahor has suggested that may be a blessing in disguise for Bruno Lage and Wolves.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Dean Smtih will know Traore is a threat so he’s got to be careful.

“Trincao is a good player but Traore is a gamechanger on his day.

“I’d rather play against Trincao than Traore.

“Villa Park is a lovey pitch to play football on and run with the ball. The pitch has always been one of the better ones.

“They know they will have to double up on Traore. You wouldn’t double up on Trincao because he’s a good player but he hasn’t got that electric speed.

“He will not leave Matt Targett one-on-one with Traore because he’s that quick.

“Villa will probably stick with that five at the back. Mings will be on that left-hand side to help cover Targett and help with Traore and make it two versus one. Mings is very quick.

“It’s going to be a very entertaining game, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Traore spent a season as an Aston Villa player before leaving for Middlesborough in 2016.

He has won two and lost three of the eight games he has played against Villa after leaving.

In other news, Kevin Phillips has been left ‘amazed at the progression’ of an Aston Villa target ‘from when I coached him’.
