Alan Shearer reveals shock over Tottenham 21-year-old
By Dominic Toner
Alan Shearer has admitted he is “very surprised” that Tottenham’s Dele All was omitted from the PFA Player of the Year shortlist.
The 21-year-old has been in sessional form this season for Spurs this campaign and is one of the nominees for the Young Player of the Year award.
However, Shearer is shocked that the England international has not been included on the main list after his impressive campaign.
Chelsea pair Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante are included alongside Alexis Sanchez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku and Spurs’ Harry Kane on the six-man shortlist.
“Very surprised not to see Dele Alli on the main PFA Player of the Year list. 16 league goals this season,” Shearer wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Alli has played a major role in Spurs’ campaign so far and helped them up to second in the Premier League table.
The attacking midfielder has become one of Mauricio Pochettino’s most crucial players and has continued his meteoric rise this season.
He has made 42 appearances across all competitions this campaign, scoring 19 goals and supplying 10 assists.
Shearer was astounded that Alli’s total of 16 league goals has not earned him a spot on the Player of the Year shortlist.
Alli will help to inspire the north London club to a title victory over Chelsea during the finale of the season and has been in great goal scoring form recently.
He has scored five goals in his last six league games and Spurs have been boosted by the return of the injured Kane to the side.
In other Tottenham news, Rio Ferdinand has made a huge claim about the club’s ace.
