Alan Shearer: This Tottenham player can’t be happy after win v Huddersfield

By Danny Wright

Alan Shearer believes that there is no way Harry Kane will be happy about being substituted off the pitch while on a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday.

Kane, 24, scored a first-half brace as his side took a commanding 3-0 lead into the break as Ben Davies also found the net between each of his strikes.

The England international was hooked my manager Mauricio Pochettino in the 87th minute for Heung-min Son, seemingly to avoid the risk of any injury in the final phases of the clash at the John Smith’s Stadium which was rounded off my Moussa Sissoko scoring his first goal for the club in the final phases.

However Shearer thinks that may have upset Kane slightly as he looked to get a second hat-trick in as many games after bagging a triple at APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League in midweek.

“Harry Kane can’t be happy being taken off again when a hat-trick was on the cards, but I am,” said Shearer on his personal Twitter account on Saturday, joking that he wants to keep hold of his all-time top Premier League goalscoring record.

Kane has scored 11 goals in nine appearances across all competitions this season, with seven of them coming in his last three matches against West Ham, APOEL and now Huddersfield.

Saturday’s win sees Spurs shoot up to third place in the Premier League table, ahead of Chelsea who play against top-of-the-table Manchester City later in the day.
