Alexis Mac Allister stance on quitting Liverpool for Real Madrid revealed

Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister is flattered by interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid as the summer transfer window approaches, sources have told Football Insider.

However, sources say the 25-year-old is fully focused on playing for Liverpool as Arne Slot prepares to take the reins at Anfield.

Mac Allister’s commitment to the Reds has not wavered despite the departure of legendary boss Jurgen Klopp.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the World Cup winner is keen to hit the ground running under Slot in the 2024-25 campaign.

Reports in his native Argentina have suggested the midfielder will be available via a release clause worth £60million in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Mac Allister flattered by Real Madrid interest but focused on Liverpool

Real Madrid have been widely linked with a potential move for Mac Allister – with that speculation only hotting up after Toni Kroos announced his retirement.

The former Brighton star played 46 times in his debut season for Liverpool, starting in 40 of those outings.

He notched seven goals and seven assists in the 2023-24 campaign – winning the League Cup.

The 5ft 9in star has played as a defensive midfielder and in more attacking roles since joining the Anfield club.

Liverpool

Mac Allister is under contract at Liverpool until June 2028 after joining from Brighton last summer (2023) for an initial fee of just £35million.

The 25-year-old, who has made 25 appearances for Argentina, will play at Copa America with his country this summer.
