Amad and Livramento react to Anderson after Nottingham Forest near-red card

Elliot Anderson got reactions from Man United and Newcastle United stars after Nottingham Forest lost to Chelsea at the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification on the final day of the Premier League season, losing 1-0 to a Levi Colwill goal on Sunday, 25 May.

The result could have been even worse had Anderson been sent off for his challenge on Noni Madueke, though Keith Hackett praised Anthony Taylor for his officiating in such an important situation.

Chris Wood missed an incredible chance late on to equalise, leading to Colwill fuming at Cole Palmer and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but it was the Blues who ended victorious on the final day.

Enzo Maresca‘s side celebrated with the travelling supporters in the away end while Forest fans sat in disappointment, but it was an incredible season for the Reds, nonetheless.

Ola Aina was joined by Man United star Amad Diallo and Newcastle’s Tino Livramento, who liked the post and showed support for the 22-year-old midfielder.

Football Insider verdict

Espirito Santo’s future remains uncertain at Forest, especially after clashing with owner Evangelos Marinakis following the draw with Leicester City at the City Ground, albeit that was played down by the club.

Missing out on Champions League football ahead of next season also draws attention to Morgan Gibbs-White’s future at Forest amid interest from Man City and Arsenal, Football Insider understands.

Murillo, Anthony Elanga, and Callum Hudson-Odoi have all been linked with exits ahead of the summer transfer window, and that could certainly happen after dropping into the Europa Conference League.

Despite the disappointment on the final day, it has still been an incredible season for those at the City Ground, but fans are now waiting nervously for the beginning of the 2025/26 campaign.

The Reds gave absolutely everything at the City Ground, but after just a single goal from Chelsea’s centre-back, the supporters must wait for another chance to play Champions League football.
