'Amateur', 'Shocking' - Rangers fans slam 25-year-old after win v Ross County

Rangers fans slammed Danny Wilson for his performance – even though he scored the winning goal in Saturday’s vital 2-1 victory over Ross County at Ibrox.

The 25-year-old Gers centre-half, playing in midfield this weekend, failed to close down County’s Jason Naismith and his cross was headed into the net by Craig Curran to give the Staggies an early lead at Ibrox, the goal coming in the 10th minute.

Wilson made up for his mistake with the winning goal in the second-half, his second in a week after his goal against Aberdeen last week, however fans still had not forgiven him for playing a role in seeing their side going behind, with one saying his defending was that of an “amateur”.

Here are a few of the best Tweets about Wilson:

As for the game itself, Alfredo Morelos, making his return from injury, got the equaliser for the Gers in the second-half, after 59 minutes.

After plenty of pressure, an 83rd minute header by Wilson helped him win the fans over as the Gers scrambled to a vital three points

The result means that Graeme Murty’s side leapfrog Aberdeen back into second place on goal difference in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers have won three games in a row in the league for the first time since December 2016.

The Gers are next in action against Neil Lennon’s Hibs at East Road in midweek.
