Andy Robertson and Alexander-Arnold react to Jarell Quansah’s message after deal agreed

Jarell Quansah was left excited as he confirmed his next move, sparking reactions from current and former Liverpool teammates.

The young defender has been the subject of transfer speculation throughout the summer, with clubs like Newcastle and Nottingham Forest monitoring his situation. However, it was Bayer Leverkusen who made the decisive move in recent weeks.

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Liverpool agreed a £35million fee with Leverkusen for Quansah last month. The deal was delayed only because the 22-year-old was representing England at the Under-21 European Championships, where they went on to lift the trophy under Lee Carsley.

As part of the agreement, Liverpool have secured a buy-back clause for Quansah, giving Arne Slot’s side the option to re-sign their academy graduate for a fixed fee in the future.

Now, with the U21 Euros concluded, Quansah’s future has been finalised, with the transfer to Bayer Leverkusen officially confirmed.

Jarell Quansah confirms Liverpool exit with message to fans

Quansah was in high spirits as he confirmed his Liverpool exit, revealing his move to Bayer Leverkusen was officially confirmed.

The 22-year-old shared a message on social media that read: “Delighted to sign for [Bayer Leverkusen]. I can’t wait to give my all for the club and to meet all the fans.”

His announcement was met with plenty of support, with Cody Gakpo reacting with a heart emoji, and fellow academy graduate Tyler Morton commenting: “Been a pleasure mate, all the best.”

Andy Robertson also showed his appreciation by liking the post, as did former teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, who left Liverpool to join Real Madrid earlier in the window.

Football Insider previously revealed Quansah had been keen to leave Anfield in search of more regular game time after falling down the pecking order.

The defender started just 13 matches last season under Slot and featured for just over 1,200 minutes across all competitions, as Liverpool went on to win the Premier League title.

The Reds have wasted no time in the market to find a replacement for Quansah, with Football Insider reporting Liverpool are now closing in on a deal for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

It’s understood Guehi wants to make the move to Liverpool, despite long-standing interest from Tottenham and Newcastle.

With just one year remaining on his current Palace contract, this summer presents the ideal opportunity for the Eagles to cash in on the England international.
