Andy Robertson to Celtic? O’Rourke shares verdict on ‘surprise’ transfer
Liverpool are still contemplating a new deal for Andy Robertson as several clubs including Celtic monitor his ongoing situation.
Sources told Football Insider that Liverpool are keen to secure a new deal for Robertson with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The Scotsman is in his ninth campaign with the club yet has shared minutes at left-back for Liverpool with Milos Kerkez.
With uncertainty over his starting spot in the side and no progression on his contract talks, European clubs are assessing a move for Robertson in the coming transfer windows.

Robertson to be tempted by boyhood Celtic move in the near future
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the Scotland international is weighing up all his options before coming to a decision over his footballing future come the end of the 2025-26 season.
Sources told Football Insider that a January exit from Liverpool for Robertson is unlikely as he bides his time with contract negotiations.
Whilst it may be too early to play at his boyhood club next summer, a move to Celtic cannot be ruled out in the not so distant future.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “I’d be very surprised if anything was to materialise from this one.
“Obviously, Andy Robertson is a boyhood Celtic fan, came through the ranks there before being released and then ended up going to Dundee United and the rest is history, where he’s really kicked on from there as Scotland captain.
“Celtic I’m sure would love the opportunity to sign somebody like Andy Robertson, but I don’t think it’s in the plans right now for Andy Robertson maybe to be moving back up to Scotland.”
Milos Kerkez’s poor Liverpool form may prove pivotal in retaining Robertson at the club
The signing of the Hungarian from Bournemouth has so far been an underwhelming decision after numerous erratic performances.

Former Man United scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Arne Slot will be concerned by the poor form of Kerkez.
The 21-year-old’s development could be key in whether the Reds decide to part with Robertson as this could leave the left-back squad looking rather weak.
If the number 26 can take advantage of his teammate’s stuttering start to the season, this may push the club into ramping up contract negotiations to avoid letting go of the veteran.
