Anthony Gordon sends three-word message to Newcastle fans after controversy
Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon has taken to social media after his controversial equaliser in their 2-1 Premier League win over Tottenham on Saturday (January 4).
The 23-year-old played the full 90 minutes as Newcastle secured an impressive win over Ange Postecoglu’s struggling side.
Spurs started well, opening the scoring through Dominic Solanke after just four minutes before Gordon scored their equaliser just two minutes later.
The ball appeared to strike Joelinton’s hand in the build-up, but after a VAR review, the goal was allowed to stand, with officials deeming his hand to be in a ‘natural position.
Alexander Isak then got in on the act just before the break with his sixth goal in his last four Premier League games.
Anthony Gordon continues to impress as Newcastle inflict further misery on Tottenham
The England international has been key for Newcastle so far this season, starting 20 of his 23 games across all competitions, scoring five goals, and providing five assists in his 1731 minutes of action.
Gordon took to Instagram to celebrate after their win over Tottenham, sharing a series of images from the game and simply saying: “Good away win.”

Newcastle travel to Arsenal for their League Cup semi-final on Tuesday (December 7) with Howe seeking his first piece of silverware since joining the club.
Howe’s side will then face League Two Bromley in what should be a routine win for the Premier League giants.
