‘Anthony Gordon will be sold in January’ after journalist’s Liverpool reveal – reaction

Newcastle United supporters have urged the club to sell Anthony Gordon amid reports that Liverpool have retained their interest in the winger.

According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, the Reds have kept tabs on the England international, who was unsettled in the summer because he felt that the club attempted to sell him.

Gordon has since gone on to sign a new long-term contract with Newcastle to extend his stay at St. James’ Park until 2030, but Liverpool are continuing to push to add him to their squad.

The 23-year-old has played 12 times in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals and providing a single assist.

Gordon was extensively linked to a potential move to Anfield throughout the summer transfer window but no deal was ever agreed.

Football Insider reported in July that the Magpies wanted a jaw-dropping total package of £100million for Gordon in the summer, with the north-east giants looking to make a huge profit on their £45million signing.

Newcastle United fans want Anthony Gordon to move on

Newcastle fans have told the club to “get rid” as they believe that he “doesn’t want to be here” anymore and feel his head was turned due to the Liverpool links.
