‘Antoine Semenyo latest as Newcastle stance on £70m deal emerges’
Newcastle United’s stance on whether to sign Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo this summer has become clear.
The Ghana international has established himself as a dangerous Premier League attacker and scored 11 goals in 37 top-flight outings last season.
Semenyo is arguably the best two-footed player in the Premier League, which makes him an attractive option to suitors in the transfer market.
The former Bristol City man helped Bournemouth finish ninth in the top tier last season, and Andoni Iraola will not want to part company with the 25-year-old.

Newcastle have not made contact with Bournemouth over Semenyo
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Newcastle are interested in Semenyo and Anthony Elanga after missing out on Bryan Mbeumo, who is caught in a transfer tussle between Manchester United and Tottenham.
However, on Monday, 16 June, The i reported that the Magpies have not made contact over the forward amid his £70million valuation.
Meanwhile, Tottenham can sign Semenyo as Thomas Frank looks to reshape the Spurs squad after replacing Ange Postecoglou.

Football Insider verdict
Howe should sign Elanga as Semenyo alternative
While Newcastle are not intent on buying Semenyo, Howe is still eager to buy a new winger ahead of competing in next season’s Champions League.

Having seen Aston Villa reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season, the North East club should fancy their chances of delving deep into the competition if they recruit well this summer.
Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively reported that Nottingham Forest want £50million for Anthony Elanga amid interest from Newcastle.
Elanga could be a real asset for Howe’s men, having notched six goals and 11 assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season.
The former Manchester United man could prove to be more clinical in a Newcastle side that boast his prolific international teammate Alexander Isak.
Meanwhile, having set their sights on the likes of Elanga, Howe will have to let go of some of his current assets this summer, while Liverpool can sign Anthony Gordon.
