Antonio ‘absolutely delighted’ after six-figure West Ham development – Mills
Michail Antonio will be “absolutely delighted” David Sullivan spent £100,000 on a private jet to fly him back from international duty with Jamaica so he could return to West Ham training early.
So says former England and Premier League star Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the gesture from West Ham’s co-owner.
Sky Sports reported yesterday (November 17) that Sullivan personally forked out £100,000 to charter a plane back from Jamaica.
Antonio featured in World Cup qualifiers El Salvador and the USA and scored his first goal for his country against the USA.
He was due to return to London on Thursday (November 18) but Sullivan’s gesture meant he was home a day early and could return to Rush Green ahead of schedule.
“Oh, he’ll be absolutely delighted,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He knows that he’s loved and also, he will have wanted to get back as soon as possible.
“The way that West Ham are playing at the moment, of course, he’s going to want to play, he’s going to want to play every single game.
“He’s important to the way they play, he’s in good form. It’s just common sense that they got him back that little bit earlier.
“Nowadays, it might be commonplace for that sort of thing to happen.”

Antonio has scored seven times and contributed four assists in 13 games across all competitions this term.
West Ham face Wolves on Saturday and if they avoid defeat they will climb into second with Man City facing Everton on Sunday.
