Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield has signed a contract with Rangers after agreeing to join this summer, according to a club insider.
The Est Consultancy Twitter account, which is a very reliable source of news about the Light Blues, reported on Tuesday night that the midfielder, 29, put pen to paper on an agreement earlier in the day.
Est Consultancy explained that Arfield signed a three-year contract with the option for a fourth year in what it claimed was a “major coup” for the Glasgow giants.
A coup for Rangers seeing Arfield sign.
Three year deal with option of a fourth supposedly inked earlier.
More of these type of players are a necessity.
Now, to clear out those who don’t want to be here.

Rangers have been linked with the Canada international in the last 48 hours as they work on a deal to win the signature of a player who is out of contract at Burnley in June.
The updated development from the Est Consultancy account comes after well-placed sources close to the situation told Football Insider that Arfield has told Rangers director of football Mark Allen he will join them as soon as the transfer window.
Former Falkirk player Arfield will be available on a free transfer in the summer transfer window and can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club.
Football Insider verdict:
What a statement of intent the signing of Arfield would be. He has been a key player for Sean Dyche’s side as they have established themselves in the Premier League top flight, with only Ashley Barnes (97) and Ben Mee (96) accumulating more than the former Falkirk man’s 86 top-flight appearances for Burnley. A left footer, Arfield can play either in central midfield or on the left flank, and he will bring class and bite to a midfield that is in need of reinforcing after once again falling short in the marquee matches this season. He also knows Scottish football inside out, which will prove handy in the maelstrom of the Old Firm as well as the SPL marathon. Good work, Rangers. Some very smart pre-window work.
