Arsenal to sign new keeper, Aaron Ramsdale plan revealed – sources
Arsenal plan to sign a new second-choice goalkeeper before sanctioning an exit for Aaron Ramsdale, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say a move for Ramsdale, 26, could go “down to the wire” ahead of the end of the window on 31 August.
The England international is a top target for multiple Premier League clubs but it is believed they have so far baulked at Arsenal’s price tag for the shot-stopper.
Southampton and Nottingham Forest are among the top-flight clubs to be linked with the goalkeeper.
Mikel Arteta is in no rush to accept low-ball offers for Ramsdale as he is keen to keep two top-class goalkeepers in his squad for the 2024-25 campaign.
Arsenal are scouring the market for potential signings to come in and replace the 26-year-old.
Arsenal want new goalkeeper before sanctioning Ramsdale exit
David Raya has finalised his permanent move to the Emirates Stadium after a successful season-long loan with the Gunners last term.
Raya replaced Ramsdale in controversial circumstances last summer (2023) after the ex-Bournemouth star showed early promise in his time at Arsenal.
The five-cap England ace made just 11 appearances across all competitions last term as Arteta’s side finished second to Man City again in the Premier League.

His contract with the Gunners is set to run until June 2026.
Raya made 41 appearances across all competitions last term.
