Arsenal and Liverpool: Supercomputer predicts Champions League quarter-final ties ahead of first legs
Arsenal and Liverpool will be in Champions League action on Tuesday and Wednesday as they look to make it to the Champions League semi-finals.
The Gunners will travel to Lisbon to take on Sporting CP in their first leg, while Liverpool will travel to Paris to face the European champions PSG.
Both English clubs suffered scares in the last 16, with Arsenal scraping a draw from their first leg with Bayer Leverkusen before responding with a resounding victory in North London.
Arne Slot’s side were beaten in Turkey by Galatasaray, but smashed the Super Lig champions 4-0 at Anfield.
Liverpool’s form, along with Arsenal’s, has taken a significant blow since then, with both teams losing their last two games.

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider this week that Liverpool are set to sack Slot amid claims of unrest at Anfield.
The 47-year-old has come crashing down to Earth this season after a title-winning debut campaign.

Brighton 2-1 Liverpool
Liverpool 4-0 Galatasaray
Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham
Galatasaray 1-0 Liverpool
He now faces the sack, with Champions League success among his final hopes to take his tenure into a third season.
But in PSG, Slot’s team will face the European champions and one of the fiercest forward lines on the continent.
Luis Enrique’s team pulled apart Chelsea in the previous round, putting eight past them over two legs.
The Blues did have their chances in both games, however, and Opta‘s supercomputer has given Liverpool a chance of making the semi-final.
PSG are the favourites with 58.54 per cent of the supercomputer’s confidence, while the Premier League side remain a strong contender at 41.46 per cent.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have been made the overwhelming favourites to end Sporting CP’s miracle run.
The Portuguese side, incredibly, overturned a 3-0 deficit to surpass Bodo/Glimt in the last 16, but the supercomputer has given the Gunners a 79.19 per cent chance of going through.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich backed to progress
Should Arsenal progress past Sporting CP, they will be set for a semi-final against either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.
The supercomputer has given the La Liga leaders its backing, with a 67.75 per cent chance of progression.
On the other side of the bracket, Liverpool’s progression will see them matched up against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.
Few expected the Spanish side to surpass Manchester City, but the supercomputer predicts that the fairy tale will end here, with Bayern holding a 64.60 per cent chance of progression.
